How to determine how much memory a program is using?
You can easily find this information. I don’t know about all OS (operating system) but I know the steps in windows. Windows has a tools called task manager by which you can find the uses of any application. So lets know. First when your program is opened I mean the program which you are need to know, press (ctrl+alt+del) in the keyboard. Select task manager to start. Under the application tab you will see your application running right click on it and click on go to process than you will see that your app process and right of it you see how much it use.

To determine how much memory is being used by a program, you can just go to the task manager and click on processes, from the list of the processes click on the process that you will like to see its status.
Another method will be to use software called hard disk sentinel which you can download for free online. Just Google 'Hard disk sentinel' or go to www.harddisksentinel.com and download it for free. Install it on your computer, and launch it from the desktop or from among the list of programs. It will show the status of each program and the program's memory usage.
Otherwise, some antivirus like AVG, the full version have a feature that allows you to know which program is using a lot of memory and asks you if you wish to close it or restart it.
