Hey Alexandra!

You cannot delete any user profile directly from control panel in Windows 98. However, you can delete it from the windows registry. It can be a cause of serious problem while deleting user account from the windows registry so I recommend you to make a backup of windows registry first.

Follow these steps after making the backup of windows registry.

1. Click on Start Button and open Run.

2. Type there msconfig and press enter. It will open registry editor.

3. from the left pane go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > ProfileList

4. If you want to remove all the profiles you can delete the ProfileList key.

5. After that quit the registry editor.

6. Now go to My computer > Drive C > Windows > Profiles> User name folders and delete the user accounts.

Thanks

Hi Alex ,

It seems you can't have access to your user accounts.

I see you are using Windows 98 . Let me first tell you that is a very outdated OS and no one recommends it now. If your System doesn't support Latest means at least Put on Windows XP at least . You can find 100s of free ISO s of Win XP and then download it and then use Nero to burn it down to a disc and then install it.

Go to Start -> user accounts and there you will have set of tools to add , modify or delete user accounts.

You can't get access to all user account features as in Windows XP and WIn 7.

Hope that gives answers to the problem.

Good luck .
