To remove the driver of your printer in Windows Vista you must first delete the printer. To do this, all you need to do is go to Print Management then delete the printer from Custom Filters – All printers. After that go back to Customer Filters and remove the printer’s driver under All drivers.

For removing the driver of your printer in Windows 7 this time, here are the steps:

  1. Right-click on your desktop and create a new shortcut with cmd.exe as your target
  2. Then right-click on the shortcut you created and choose Run as Administrator
  3. From there, run the printui tool (that is printui /s /t2)
  4. Try deleting the printers from there

If the above procedure doesn’t work for Windows 7, you can also try the following:

  1. Click on Start then choose Run and type in Services.msc
  2. From there, locate the print spooler service and right-click on properties then click on stop service
  3. This time, open my computer and browse to c:WindowsSystem32spoolPrinters (don’t forget to click on ok in order to access the folder)
  4. Delete the contents on that folder
  5. Restart the print spooler service this time
  6. Then go back into the printui utility and try to remove the printer again.
