I don’t have flash and it’s heavy for my minimal hard drive storage. Whenever I install flash it slows down my computer. I want to know how to decompile as3 swf opensource project without flash. I have CDs of multiply projects that I need to work on and I want to install a lighter program to help me decompile stuff without using flash software

You can use the .NET decompiler. There are also a number of free java decompilers which you can check out here. A good lightweight one that will cost you some money would be AS3 Sorcerer decompiler which is for Windows. It can be used for education purposes or to recover work whose source is lost.
