I have got Windows 8.1 recently and i work with bluetooth headset and bluetooth mouse and keyboard. Obviously i need to connect the small Bluetooth piece to laptop’s USB drive. Whenever i put laptop into sleep mode and try removing the bluetooth piece, it simply wakes my laptop up. It is very much irritating to again wait foe windows to load, login and then put it back to sleep mode again? Is there a way to disable th disconnection activity to trigger the laptop to wakeup. Thanks a lot for tour suggestions in advance

Why not do this instead: disconnect the Bluetooth adapter connected to your computer before putting your laptop into sleep mode. I’m sure this way your machine’s sleep state will not be interrupted by a disconnecting device. Another way of preventing the device from waking up the machine is through the Power Management option in the Device Manager if the option is available.

To try this, right-click My Computer then select Properties. Select Hardware tab then click Device Manager. From the list, expand your Bluetooth device by clicking on the plus sign (+). Once it is expanded, right-click on the Bluetooth device then select Properties. If it is available, select Power Management tab. Uncheck “Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby” then click OK.

Try also deactivating the “Wake on LAN” option in the BIOS.
