How to configure IPV6 (windows 7)

Hi Irvine,

Most of the Internet Service Provider use IPv4 today but soon, early next year this will run out, as Internet Subscribers in the world wide world are increasing.

They come up to a point of creating IPv6, which consists of 128 bit character, alpha-numeric ranging from 0-9 and A-F letters, a total of 16 characters. Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) is still being used today but this will be replaced early next year. Most Internet Service Providers starts using IPv6, as they are upgrading their modem/server to keep up with the latest updates.

As you may ask, why create IPv6 instead of IPv5 first? Well, it is proven that IPv5 won't work and it causes problems, that's why they skip this number. DNS is Domain name server, which translate IP address into a website.

Subnet mask uses general numbers 255.255.255.0.  Alternate DNS you can use; 4.2.2.1 or 4.2.2.2 up to 4.2.2.6.

Hope this helps.
