How to configure Caller ID settings on Panasonic DECT 6.0 phone

On a Panasonic DECT 6.0 Phone, when a call comes in, the caller ID comes up with 1 plus the area code. I would like to remove the 1 in the caller ID so that it will be easier to callback using the caller ID feature. Is there a way to do so? Or is there a way to callback using that format without getting an error?

Hi Gabrielle, in calling back the party who called you, the only possible way for you to call them back is to edit the numbers. Based on the manual [per page 51] “You can edit a phone number in the caller list by removing its area code &/or the long distance code of 1.” That’s the flaw, but take it or leave it since that is the only capability of the phone’s program.  As per page 52 which states “Auto-edit”, basically that not also applicable for calling back the party who initiated the call. That is only for editing the phonebooks phone entries.
