How to clean USB history?

In Windows, the USB history is stored in Registry. So, in order to delete the history, you need to delete in Registry.

 

Before doing this, take a backup of Windows Registry.

 

 

Now, press "Windows+R" and type "regedit"

 

Now go to the below paths in registry and delete all sub folders under them.

 

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlDeviceClasses{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b }

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumUSB

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumUSBSTOR

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlUsbFlags

 

 

Or you can use a free software "USB Oblivion", which will delete it automatically. The software is easy to use and you can simulate the whole process and can see which all files will get deleted. Also, you can take a backup of these files using this tool.
