How to check active ports in system?

Hello friends,

How to check active ports in system? I have 4 USB ports in my Compaq hp laptop but I don’t think all of them are working properly. Is there a way for me to check all the active ports in system? And another thing, how to add ports in my computer with windows XP operating system.

You can test your port by using a flash drive. If the flash drive shows in “My Computer”, then it is working properly. If not, maybe there are driver issues in your port. You can try doing a system restore to the time where they are working properly. That way, the drivers for the ports will return to their working form.
