Hey Carlo,

That has been one major topic for many people using Windows Vista.
One of the major work-arounds is simply to disable the start-up sound and setting the logon sound to one which pleases you. That can be done in the Control Panel, under Hardware and Sound, Sound, Sounds Tab.

Other people has managed to do it with some more complex tricks, but which, by following the posted instructions, you should be able to accomplish without problem. I would recommend you to check the solution discussed in this site: https://neosmart.net/blog/2007/how-to-changing-the-windows-vista-startup-sound/

Hope you can manage to change the annoying sound,

Best regards
