Hi,
How can we enable Active Directory Authentication for ESXi? I need to know, how i can achieve this. Its kind of blank on where to start. Been an admin for 5 years, but ESXi and AD is always a tough one for me.
Thanks,
Abhi.

How can we enable Active Directory Authentication for ESXi
Hi there, I am Karlos,
Here is a step by step guide on how to enable Active Directory authentication for ESXi:
-
Go ahead and Log on to your ESXi hosts locally and choose Configuration.
-
Look at the left side of the dialog box and choose Authentication Services and then choose Properties.
-
From Select Directory Services Type drop down, choose Active Directory.
-
In Domain Settings, add your domain by either simply adding mydomain.local or specify a different OU where you want the ESXi computer account to be located, like mydomain.local/vsphere.
-
Choose Join domain to provide credentials.
-
Add the Active Directory users or group to the ESXi host and then assign your desired role.
