Try uninstalling your Mozilla Firefox and then reinstall. Download first the latest version of Firefox from their website before reinstalling it. Run Firefox when finish installing and then try browsing the internet to see if the connection speed have changed. You might want to consider restarting your connection e. g. (Modem, Router, Switch) because sometimes it causes the problem of having slow connection speed. If it's still slow, your computer should be reformatted because it might be full of viruses inside that cause the slow connection. Viruses slow down programs by eating memory allocation and bandwidth.

Hope this helps you with your problem.

Firefox 6.0.2 is not as good as its former version. This version of Firefox is causing some trouble with multiple tab issue. Sometimes, it crashes opening like 3 or 4 tabs. Though I didn't see any problem with speed, it's probably because of your internet speed. Anyway, if you are willing to use this 6.0.2 version, better try using it in safe mood. My personal advice is to fall back a bit and use any version of 4 or 5 series releases.  These versions are much more reliable than 6.2.0. You can also try Firefox 7.0. Use this link: Download Link1. It's also essential that you use an antivirus software to scan your system.
