Hi,

This is evident because the hardware you recently installed is not compatible with your Laptop or the drivers are not properly installed. As your system is 64 bit it is necessary to reinstall 64 bit drivers for the new hardware components.

If you haven’t got the user manual download it from the DELL site and refer it how to clear CMOS settings.

The easiest way would be removing the system CMOS battery for 5-10 minutes and fixing it.

After reset the CMOS and problem still persist you need to update the bios with latest update from the DELL.

When updating be very cautious and never interrupt the process due to any reason.

You can also diagnose the error by examine the lights blinking back of the system case.

I haven’t heard yet of a problem between the operating system and the CMOS or the BIOS that are conflicting with each other. It’s not possible to happen.

If your desktop computer is unable to boot after installing a new hardware device, the newly added device might have conflicted with the system. It is possible that the device doesn’t support your operating system.

You only need to uninstall the device’s driver and remove the actual device from the CPU. But at this state, you can not uninstall its driver if your computer doesn’t start properly or doesn’t start at all.

Try starting your computer in Safe Mode. Start your computer then press F8 right before the Windows logo appears on the screen. Select Safe Mode from the menu then hit Enter.

If you successfully booted to Safe Mode, uninstall the device’s driver there using the Device Manager.

Hi Rafiq Ahmed,

When computer is booting it has to have the source of the information. This information normally come from either the hard disk or the CD ROM ( Compact Disk Read Only Memory).

So when in the BIO set up you must direct your computer to boot from either of the above .When booting from hard disk ensure that the set up is already installed in the computer. When booting from the CD ROM ensure that the set up disk is already available in the CD ROM. Ensure that also the hardware is properly connected such that it has power and the cable to the motherboard are fixed properly.

Hardware fixing:

When fixing hardware to the computer if it is plug and play it has its setting already with it hence  the computer will be able to detect it and it shall be available for use.

Incase it is not plug and play the hardware do come with installation CD with it which should be inserted at CD ROM so as to detect hardware

Some of the hardware require you to go to control panel. Add new hardware  .

Note:

When going to add new hardware in control panel ensure the hardware is fixed
