I am using internet explorer in windows 7. I think it is taking too much RAM. I have observed it in task manager. My internet explorer also gets slowed time to time. What is the way to optimize internet explorer ram?

Hey William, Hello there,

It's actually great you are still tolerating Internet Explorer when you have a lot of other options available.

The best I could recommend is Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, still if you want to use Internet Explorer then you can visit this webpage for further help.

Regards Ian M Tyner.

Dear Williams Jones,

To optimize Internet Explorer you have to do the following 3 tasks and most importantly defragment your HDD at least once in every month.

  1. First of all, Removing unwanted add-ons: Select bottom left of the add-ons menu labeled Show > Downloaded Controls > add-on to delete > More information > remove > close.

  2. To disable RSS (if you don’t use it): Select tools > Internet Options > Content > Feeds and Slices 'settings' > deselect of options you to be disabled.

  3. Make the turning off enable of the synchronizing of temporary internet files: Tools > Internet Options > General Tab > Browsing History 'settings' > temporary internet files 'never' > and finely Click Ok to apply settings.
