Hi, I am an user of AVAST 2015 desktop anti – virus. As I've purchased it's premium version it should be working good. But I'm facing an weird problem as – every time I restart my computer the AVAST- 2015 desktop anti-virus finds and blocks a virus named TROJAN-VPS.exe. Any person can tell me what's happening?

That’s very weird. Supposedly, when your antivirus already removed an infected file, it will no longer appear because it is placed under quarantine. Meaning, the file is not totally deleted but moved somewhere else and continuously being monitored by the antivirus so it can no longer cause an infection.

But in your case, it turns out that the same virus name keeps on appearing every time you start your computer. If that’s the case, it only means your computer is not completely clean. Update your antivirus then run a full system scan on your computer. If the antivirus were able to find a virus during the startup, I’m sure it will find more viruses during the scan.

After the scan, open Windows Explorer then click Tools and then select Folder Options. Select View tab. Scroll down a little bit then select “Show hidden files and folders” and then uncheck “Hide protected operating system files”. Click Yes when you are prompted and then click OK. See image.

Next, go to drive C. Right-click System Volume Information folder, point your mouse to your antivirus, and then select Scan. See image.

Clean any sign of infection. Once it is finished, restart your computer and then check if your antivirus will report a virus again. In case you have a severe infection, download and install Sophos Virus Removal Tool. This is recommended for severely infected computers. When using the tool, make sure you are connected to the internet because Sophos needs to be online for the entire duration of the scan.
