Hi there! It is actually possible to convert a scanned book into a Microsoft word file. There are many options.

Option 1: You have to scan the document in order for you to have a .jpg file. You can use the OCR software. This software is free from latest scanners. This program can convert the image to .doc format. However, minimal changes should be done since it cannot produce very accurate work. Other websites can also do this job for you such as https://www.onlineocr.net/

Option 2.: This is a more hassle way. Open a MS word and drag it to half of the screen. Then, open the scanned content into the other half and start your typing work.

Cheers.

As an update, there are new tools that make this converting books or PDFs to word files.

Acrobat PDF Professional is one tool that does a great job: https://acrobat.adobe.com/mena/en/acrobat/acrobat-pro.html

Another tool is called Grooper document capture: https://www.bisok.com/grooper-data-capture-method-features/multi-pass-ocr/

Hope this helps!
