But when I try inserting it on other computer, I can instantly see it from the list after windows install it automatically after inserting. I am running Windows Vista and have two ports for USB 2.0. Sometimes this happens when Windows named the USB drive to a drive that is already in use. So you cannot find it on your Computer list on your Windows Vista. To fix the missing USB Drive on your computer, please follow the steps below;

  1. Click Start then right-click Computer then click Manage or you can also select the Computer on your desktop. The computer management window will open.
  2. In the computer management window, click on Disk Management under storage so you can see all the drives connected with your computer.
  3. You can easily determine the drive you were looking for by its file type and size.
  4. When you are sure about the drive letter of the one you are looking for, right-click it then Change Drive Letter and Paths.
  5. Let’s say that the drive letter is F:, when the change drive letter and paths window open, click on the Change button below.
  6. Assign a drive letter by selecting which letter to use on the drop down menu. Make sure that the drive you will choose is not in use.
  7. After selecting the drive letter, a warning box from Disk Management will open to make sure you want to change the drive letter. Click yes to continue.
  8. Now, you can see that the drive letter has been already changed.
  9. When you insert the USB again, the AutoPlay box will appear. Select from the list if you want to open folder to view files, use it for backup and etc.

      10.  You can now access your USB from the Computer.

If you are not able to see you USB drive then may be there is a conflict between the drive letters in your hard disk and your USB drive or you have selected some such settings that are not allowing the USB to be displayed in My computer.

To solve both of problems take these steps: Go to START and then click on  RUn and then type "diskmgmt.msc" if you are using vista then same can be applied on DOS also when you enter the command and press enter a new window will open with all details of our drives here locate your drive and give it an other drive letter such as give it a dive F: or some thing like this it will solve the problem of drive letters and your disk will be visible on My computer.

Or you can access your disk directly form DOS and then check if it contain some virus because the problem may be of some virus so first delete it and then run your pen drive. I hope through this you will be able to solve your problem.
