Generally, win 2000 uses tcp/ip for network. To determine whether it is using tcp/ip or netbuei, you have to do some steps in your system.

First, go to the control panel and select the network places(or from internet connections) from there. by double clicking, open it and select the properties from there. There you will see that tcp/ip(protocol) option and thus you will know it is running on tcp/ip. On the other hand, if you do not find such option, you will be sure to know that you are using netbuei.
