As router can be used for many criminal activities, I was wondering if my router is encrypted or not. How to know if my router is

encrypted or not and also how to encrypt it , if it is not encrypted?

Hey Alfred Molina!

When you connect to the Wifi with your router, if it asks for the Password, it means that your router is password protected or Encrypted. If your Laptop or mobile or PC does not ask the password while connected to the Wifi, it means that your router is not security enabled.

In this case you have to make it security enabled. For this purpose you have to open the IP page of the router. Normally the default IP address is 192.168.1.1. Copy it in your browser and hit enter. Type "admin" as your username and password. (You have to check the router manual for IP address and Username/Password).

There in WLAN section, select Security and set your password in WPA/PSK field.

After that you your router will be security enabled.

Thanks
