Hi all,
I have writer from Open Office installed on my computer that is running with Windows Vista. The problem I am having right now is I can’t edit a document even I save it on a different file it keeps on prompting me “read-only”. I change MS Office 97 because it always freezes up on me. Please help me! Thanks
How can i edit this document Please help
Hello there!
Files in Open Office can only be edited if you click the Edit File icon. The icon is usually next to the Document as Email icon and Export Directly as PDF icon.
If the icon is not visible, right click the Toolbar and select Visible Buttons. Check the Edit file icon. This will make the button appear in the Toolbar.
Another way to fix this problem is by going to the folder where you save your file. Right click the icon of your saved file. Select properties and then untick the Read-only in the Attributes section. Click Apply and then OK. Hope this helps.
