Hi, I am using a server 2008 in my home computer. It’s a windows computer and I have been having some problems with it. Someone advised me to do a system restore. Can you explain to me how to do a system restore server 2008 version?

The first thing to do is to close your files, save your data on a hard disk and turn off your computer. Now use a CD to start your system. When you see the command prompt pop up, click on it and try to search for the registry files (they will resemble something like this : system32config)

After that you need to check the directory called RegBackup and locate a offending hive which was likely causing problems in your pc. Select that hive. Finally, click the back button to go to the registry hives. Once you are there, just keep a new name for the corrupt hive you found in Backup directory and paste it in the main registry folder.

You are done! Now when you restart your computer, you should find its performance has improved.
