I have Gmail Account but I’m still used on using Outlook 2007 as a desktop client for emailing.
I want to know how to add my Gmail to MS-Outlook.
I heard that Hotmail account can be added to this, but mine is Gmail so I want to learn how to use this feature.
If you know how, please send me guides on how to do this please.
Thanks.
How can I add Gmail to MS-Outlook 2007?
You can set your Gmail Account to Outlook very easily.
You can send and receive your E-mails from G-mail account in Outlook.
There are different ways to configure Gmail with Outlook.
First of all enable your IMAP.
To do this follow the instructions:
-
Select Settings located at the top of the Gmail navigation bar.
-
Go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
-
Enable the IMAP in IMAP Access and click Save Changes.
On your Outlook menu, select Tools then Account Settings.
-
Click New under E-mail tab.
-
Type any name under your Name and enter Gmail address under Email Address.
-
Now Check Manually configure server settings or additional server types and then click Next.
-
Ensure that Internet E-mail is selected then click Next.
-
Select IMAP in account type.
-
Type imap.gmail.com under Incoming mail server
-
Type smtp.gmail.com for outgoing mail server (SMTP)
-
Enter your Gmail User name & password
-
Click More Settings then go to Outgoing Server tab.
-
Check the field my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
-
Type 465 Server Port Numbers for Outgoing server (SMTP).
-
Click OK then finishes the process.
Access Gmail via POP:
-
First of all enable the POP.
-
Open your Outlook 2007 then go to Tools Account Settings
-
Under Account Settings choose the E-mail tab then click New
-
Enter your Gmail account information and Click Next.
Note: Do not check “Manually configure server” settings.
Now your Outlook has successfully configured the server settings for your email click Finish.
On your Inbox click send /receive then you are done.
