In my office, few users use windows XP professional and few windows 7. Most of them use Windows Server 2003. We need huge pages to print daily. My bosses ask me to count page print per day and he also gives me assessment to count how much page actually print by a toner due to count printing cost.

We use HP Laser jet 1010 printer which attached with a computer. We use this computer as print server and the print server is running Windows Server 2003.

How can I do this?

Hello my Dear,

In this condition you have to install the software which not only counts pages as user prints them but also you can enable and disable the accounts of the users.

This software is used on a server and all user details are entered in this software . After this when users want to access the printer, if their account is active then they can access the printer. However it also can be set on another machine also.

You have to download this software from the link. If you are a good programmer you can just built it yourself.

The web address I gave you will help you a lot in your problem.

I hope to look you again.

Till then GOOD BYE.

You can use Print Inspector 7.0.2. It is a print management and auditing instrument that is created for the corporate network. This application helps the user to manage the print jobs that are queued on a shared printer. With this application, you can view the properties of the current document, resume or restart the print job or to totally cancel the print.

It has an unusual database that contains an exhaustive statistics of all the print jobs, the document’s name, the date and the number of pages, the date and time of the printing job, name of the user who printed the documents, the name of the computer terminal who sent the print job to the shared printer, and others.

Print Inspector 7.0.2 supports these operating systems:

  • Windows 2000
  • Windows NT
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows XP
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows 7
