Hello experts,

How to avoid my Skype alt tabs games? While playing Yuri and red alert game there is an icon that will pop up in front of my computer screen which is the Skype tab and exits my game graphical interface. How can I get rid of this problem? I think it came out every 10 minutes and it annoys me too much. Please do help me.

Thank you.

Dear James

I have read your question and I understand that you have an issue with Skype popping up and interfering with the game you are playing.

You need to uncheck the all control on Skype:

1. Click on Skype window.
2. Click on tool then options.
3. Click on calls then call settings.
4. On the right side click on show advanced options.
5. Now uncheck show calls control when Skype is in the background then click on save.

If this doesn’t solve the issue, disable all your Skype notifications:

1. Click on Skype.
2. Click on tool then options.
3. Click on notifications then notifications settings.
4. Uncheck all the notifications that are checked.
5. Click on alerts and messages.
6. Uncheck all the alerts that are checked then save.

If this doesn’t solve the issue as well then you will need to quit Skype while you play your games.

Hi James K Blevins,

To prevent Skype alt tabs games while enjoying your favorite games, you have to put on DND mode to avoid it from doing this.

Thanks.

If it keeps popping up every ten minutes, it can be annoying when you are playing a game. The best way to fix it is to remove it from the Windows startup. When you install Skype, it starts automatically with Windows by default that’s why you see it pop up every ten minutes even if you didn’t start Skype because it is running in the background.

There are many ways to remove Skype from the Windows startup. First, you can disable it right within Skype itself. Start Skype then log in to your account. Go to “Tools,” “Options,” “General Settings,” and then uncheck “Start Skype when I start Windows.” After this, close Skype and restart the computer. See if this works. Another way is using CCleaner.

Download the free version of CCleaner and install it. Once installed, start CCleaner then go to “Tools” on the left pane and select “Startup” on the right. Scroll down and select Skype then click “Disable.”

CCleaner disable startup program

This will now disable Skype from the Windows startup. Close CCleaner after this then restart the computer. See if this works. If you want to convert CCleaner to Pro, download the codes and follow the instructions.
