Camstaciahas never been a problem to me before, but this time it has started to give me a real headache.
I mean have been using it for so long, but it is just today that it gives me an error.
How am I going to resume the recording?

You will have to alter your microphone settings in order to get rid of this error.
Open Camtasia recorder
Go to Tools – Options
See there which Audio device is selected
Change it to Headset Microphone

Two most vital causes are responsible for this kind of error message.
First of all, if you use the tscc code or default settings in your recorder then mostly the error causes for an outdated or corrupted soundcard driver. So install the most up to date drivers for your soundcard.
Secondly if you are using the divx 6.8 yv12 decoder codec when recording, please try to select Divx 6.8 codec (2 logical cpu's).
Maybe it resolves the problem.
If the error consistent with the Divx 6.8 codec then you can follow the below steps:
1. Go to Tools > Options > Video tab, in your recorder.
2. Select Manual and then click Video Compression.
3. Select Divx and click the Configure button.
4. For the Certification Profile, Select 1080HD Profile.

Camtasia Recorder: Failed to resume recording: Invalid Configuration State.
If you have done change the setting like above solution, you still have same problem, it's maybe because a result of an outdated or corrupted soundcard driver. You can check soundcard driver, update it.
And if this can't fix your problem, there is problem with hardware.
It means you must buy a new soundcard.

There are two potential causes lead to this error message.

First, your soundcard driver may be out of date. Please check it out and install the newest driver.

Second, it may concern to audio settings. You should switch your Audio device to Headset Microphone as the first solution guide.

How am I going to resume the recording?
If you get this error on resume recording in Camstacia, then first of all you have to change your Audio settings in order to solve this problem
1- Go to tools options
2- Select whether Audio option is selected or not if not then select audio option and then select microphone ,and hope so you will get rid of this problem
3- .If you face same problem again un plug the microphone and then plug the microphone back in, reset up the audio stuff .Then it will work properly
4- And for those people who don’t want to use the built-in mic , then they  should Disable the non active mic under recording input devices   and then                                                                                                                    Â
Control Panel -> Sound -> select recording tab -> highlight the non working device ->
properties -> device usage -> don’t use this device. Apply.
Now reboot or task manger, process, select the cam recorder .exe and kill the process then open the application and enjoy
