I have a PAVILION A 6040 which comes with Windows Vista home Premium.

I have installed Windows 7 Home Premium in this system.

The hard disk is SATA 2000 GB. Sata controller has set to RAID in BIOS.

I just want to change it to AHCI. Please show me some guidelines.

To change this setting you have to be able to change it from the BIOS. To enter an HP Pavillion's BIOS you may need to press F1 or F2 or F8 or F10 or F12. Even ESC can be a way to access it. Hit this after you turn the computer on. Once you're in the BIOS, look for the Boot Device settings or simply your Hard Drive settings then have the options set to AHCI. Windows should have the AHCI drivers, but if now, you can get it from Intel's website. I would suggest though that you don't change it. As of late there's no 2TB laptop hard drives, so you may be getting the 2TB size due to your computer using a RAID configuration. If this is the case, changing the setting might mess things up.
