It is indeed quite a nightmare when a user’s hard drive fails and he loses all his important data or files in the process. That is why every time a friend asks me what to do best if they are worried about such I would advise them to back all their data and files to an external storage device. Any will do from a flash drive to an external hard drive depending on the free space they need to back up their data. However, there are instances that before we can even do back-ups we lose files because they were either deleted accidentally or they were corrupted. In these cases, we can go ahead and recover those files and even repair them in no time. You can either bring your hard drive to an expert or work on it by yourself to save money (although the software you will need to use may not be free, it will surely be cheaper than paying a technician). If you decide to do the latter, you just need to go to:

Unfortunately, a corrupt file is a corrupt file. It can never be restored back to its useful days. Even if there is a program designed to fix damaged files on that file type, the outcome or the resulting file is still not one hundred percent (100%) error free. Like for example in the case of a damaged RAR file.

A RAR file is a compressed file or archive created with WinRAR. WinRAR has a built-in repair tool that you can use to fix or repair broken RAR files or even ZIP files. But when I tried it before, it was able to really fix the broken RAR file and I was able to extract its contents.

But when I checked the unpacked files, not all the files were fixed. Some were still accessible and error free but the rest are unusable. Some of the text files in that archive are still partially damaged like there is one text file where the upper part of the document is readable and half of it below is just pure garbage.

If you have personal files like documents, pictures, or even programs, you need to create backups for future use. They will become handy one day.
