Help with VMware tools installation.

Experts,

I need to create a virtual machine using VMware’s Workstation version 7.

During the installation I choose simple mode installation and proceeded.

When I tried installing the tools, I received the error message that is given above.

Do I need to re-install everything?

Is there any way I can get rid of it quickly?

Error: “VMware Tools installation cannot be started manually while Easy Install is in progress.”

Thanks in advance,

Basil

VMware Workstation is a virtual machine software suite which allows users to set up multiple virtual computers and exploit one or more of these virtual machines simultaneously with the hosting operating system.

When I searching about your problem I found various solutions that goes in various sides. But some of the solutions take lot of time to solve.

I found few articles about “floppy with the auto install information” and here is the links for it

Informational Article 1

Informational Article 2

But these methods are little bit confusing and hart to follow.

Finally I found this simple and short answer.

Here is the link.

I hope this will help you

Thank you….

Removing the simple mode floppy from the config file will not work. Try deleting the *.vmx config file then create a new machine into the same folder. You will get a warning about creating a machine in the same folder as an existing machine but do not worry about this. Proceed making sure that you are using an existing disk and point it to the original. Also, it might be that you disconnected the floppy disk image before the installation.

Let the floppy disk point to an actual device eventhough the actual device does not exist. When the machine started, it prompted to remove the device and will work normally. Hope this helps!
