SUMIF function in Excel 2010 is used to get sum of values in a range that meets your criteria.
The formula for SUMIF function is as follows
= SUMIF (Range, Criteria, Sum Range)
where Range is the group of cells on which the function is applied.
Criteria is the condition that determines whether the cell is to be summed or not.
Sum Range is the data range to be summed if first range meets the specified criteria. If this range is omitted, the first range is summed instead.

The Sum Range in the formula is optional. That is, if a Sum Range is not provided then the sum occurs on the former two inputs, i.e Range and Criteria.

Following is an example. Where the formulas are applied and answer to the formula is provided inthe next cell.
