Hello Dannyrivas,

As we go straight with this problem you have to be sure that NVIDIA GeForce 5200 has an exact driver installed in your operating system version like 32bit or 64bit and using a DirectX 9 is only required for this type of Graphics card.

You can uninstall the OpenGL by removing also the drivers of NVIDIA GeForce 5200 in Add remove programs and before you do this step try to download the complete installer or have Automatic Driver Detection on the CPU in URL:

Now, a day this type of video card is not supported with other higher games.

OpenGL is a feature of your graphics adapter and not a program you can just reinstall after it failed to work. “OpenGL” stands for “Open Graphics Library”. It is the computer industry’s standard cross-language, cross-platform application program interface or API for defining 2-D and 3-D graphic images. The API is basically used to interact with a GPU or graphics processing unit to accomplish hardware-accelerated rendering.

Prior to the development of OpenGL, any company that develops a graphical application normally had to rewrite the graphics part of it for every operating system and had to be aware of the graphics hardware as well. Silicon Graphics Inc. or SGI started the development on OpenGL in 1991 and released it on June 30, 1992.

Applications utilize it greatly in the fields of CAD or computer-aided design, flight simulation, virtual reality, information visualization, scientific visualization, and especially in video games. OpenGL has been managed by the non-profit technology consortium Khronos Group since 2006. To check what version of OpenGL is supported by your video card, download OpenGL Extensions Viewer.

You can use it to check the specifications of your graphics adapter and verify the supported OpenGL version. If you think OpenGL has stopped working, uninstall and reinstall your video card driver then update the driver to the latest. You can download the latest driver from the manufacturer’s website:
