Hi!

I would like to know how to install Lollipop in GS4? What are the system requirements for this? What are the things I need to do first and what are the things that I need to remember in installing this software? Is there any preferable aside from this? Can you show me how to do this step-by step? After installing it will I still be able to use my old applications and programs installed? How can I recover the programs? Please provide me information in this. Thank you! Have a nice day!

Hello,

You can easily update your Android to Lollipop as Galaxy S4 has the update of Android Lollipop v5.0.1.

First of all, get Samsung Kies. It’s the desktop tool for managing your Samsung smartphones. It’s available in Windows and Mac OS X platform. Download Samsung Kies.

Then, connect your device via USB to your PC. If you’re on Windows, install the device driver at the first time from “%ProgramFiles%SamsungKies3USB Driver” where “%ProgramFiles%” means the installation directory of Samsung Kies. Double-click the “SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe” and install the driver.

Then,

1. Make sure that your phone is full charged and connected to the PC via “MTP” mode.

2. Start Kies.

3. From the top ribbon, click Tools >> Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation.

You can also update your phone directly from “Software Update”.

1. From your phone, go to Apps >> Settings.

2. Scroll down and tap “About device”.

3. Tap Software update >> Update.

This update will be very large and so, it’s strongly recommended to make backup of your device using Samsung Kies. It has a backup option to backup your apps and everything. So, don’t forget to backup your data first.

After this update, you can’t downgrade your Android.
