Help! I can’t re-install InstallShield

I once had this program on my computer but I needed to uninstall it after I encountered a problem launching the program.

When I try to re-install, I encounter yet another problem. The error message says something about “InstallShield error code-6001” and also states instructions to close programs, empty temp folder and check internet connection. I did just what were written and tried to re-install but I was still unable to do so. The same error notification came up.

I really need a hand on this. Thanks in advance!

This type of error shows that a corrupt version of InstallShield is currently installed on your computer, and that’s the reason that you can’t install the program. To remove this error and make sure that this issue doesn’t bother again, simply remove the following folder from your computer:

  • C:Program FilesCommon FilesInstallShieldProfessionalRunTime701, if you are running 32 bit Windows XP
  • C:Program Files(x86)Common FilesInstallShieldProfessionalRunTime701, if you are running 64 bit Windows XP
  • C:Program FilesCommon FilesInstallShieldProfessionalRunTime… (if you don’t see any folder name 0701, then delete the Runtime)

Now, run the installer again, hopefully it should work fine, but if the problem still persists then we recommend that you should ‘Rename’ the folder ‘InstallShield’ and then try again running the installer. It’s always better to rename the older folder with something like ‘old-installshield’.

Hello,

The solution to your problem is the Install Shield error that can be the file or the version has a corrupted application of the Install Shield that is installed to your PC. To solve this problem you just simply uninstall the application or maybe just simply remove the following folder from your PC and then try attempt to install that again to your machine and after installing try to restart your machine just try on that. I recommend that you rename the folder to anything you like, but be sure it is similar to the Install Shield if it’s possible.
