Hello!

We are looking for anyone with experience in TN3270 on the mainframe. We are a medium shop with about 2.000 users on z9 2094-504 and now we want to upgrade to TN3270. Are there any impacts on the mainframe like the increase in overhead CPU consumption.

Anyone with the experience of this conversion, please assists us.

We are really stuck.

Thank you…

The simplest solution to the issue that you have addresses above will be to use the Communication Server Config Guide which you will find that it just straight forward in explaining how you will do that upgrade.

Some things that you might want to do when upgrading to the new TN3270 mainframe is to make sure that you run a separate TN3270 ip stack which is crucial when you are moving to zOS 1.9. When doing that, you will notice that the usage or the CPU consumption will be pretty much nonexistent for the stack. You will also need the users to sign on to a session manager and also to any CPU that is tagged to the started task.
