Hi, I am have installed FactoryTalk View Studio 6.1 in my Windows Seven PC. When i try to start this software I get the following error. Please post if anyone have any solution to this problem......

Error message: This software requires personalized information that cannot be read. Please contact Rockwell Technical Support.

Hallo Hanley,

The error you are getting is more likely due to an activation problem. When you install the software initially, AB ties their software basing on its own serial number, the MAC address for the computer on which it is stored as well as the activation number that you get from them when you purchase.

In case any of the three changes stated or may be the contact expires, you are in trouble. What you will need to do is the following:

  • Go to the start menu of your computer and then choose Rockwell Automation.
  • Next choose FactoryTalk View and then click on the Activations Tab.
  • Check what the status is.
