I got this error message when trying to show my desktop (see screenshot below).

Show Desktop has quit unexpectedly
If you reload a panel object, it will automatically be added back to the panel.
I tried looking for answers in the internet but couldn’t find any. I am new to this so please help me.Â
Any advice on what to do next?

I will suggest that you remove that quick launch icon from the task on your computer and then re-add it again. It seems the error is happening due to registry errors that might have been caused due to some changes you made on the computer in its settings and therefore you will have to fix them.
I will advise that you run the check disk utility for the Mac so as to find any errors in the system, either in the registry or even hardware issues that might be related to the problem that you are experiencing and fix them. Or you could try restoring the system to a previous state before the error and see if that will fix the problem.
