Google has introduced a new method of tracking a location with the help of artificial intelligence and an image of that location. How does this technique work?

A program called PlaNet had been developed by Tobias Weyand that can track a location merely from the image of that location. The creators first divided the whole globe into divisions and then, they created a complete database including around 126 Million photos of various location around the world excluding the oceans and Polar Regions. So whenever this program is presented with any photo, the photo is run through the database to look out for any matches. And in this way, Google finds out the precise location.
