Will this new attempt not affect system performance as a whole? Especially that this now has more built-in applications.

Hi good Day.
Thank you for your interest. Yes Google+ is a new platform But accept that thing who has undertaken this. It is – Google. When Google have undertaken this it have to be User friendly, friendly, easy & handy so I think you don’t have to concern about more built-in applications that could affect system performance because Google is now a days using AJAX to avoid the heavy scripts. See The Gmail & Google home page how simple these are. These are the example of simplicity. I follow this because I love the simplicity.

Google+ as the new social networking site
Google+ is indeed another social networking site but has a different layout compared to the usual social networking sites Facebook and MySpace. Even if you already have a Google account you still won’t be able to use Google+ until you upgrade your account and it’s totally free. Similar to Facebook, you can also post your present status on your home page, share links, upload and share photos and videos, play games, and more.
You can also share other people’s shared links. But the only difference with Facebook is that in Facebook you can “Like” and “Unlike” shared stuffs. In Google+, it is not available. I also don’t think that it will affect the performance of your computer since it doesn’t display much compared to Facebook and MySpace.
