Google Chrome.exe Application Error Problem

Hey, Everyone!

I am looking for some gurus of Application Software installation who know why error occurs. I am having problem with the installation of Chrome on my laptop. As soon as I run the exe file, it displays an error.

The instruction at “0x24418bf7” referenced memory at "0x24418bf7". The memory could not be “read”.

Click on OK to terminate the program

Click on CANCEL to debug the program

If I press ok, then the installation is terminated. If I press cancel button, it just runs a self debugging process and then disappears without resolving the installation issue. First, I thought that there may be a problem with the laptop, so I tried the same exe file on a computer having win server 2003 on it. It was also generating the same error.

So I tried to download a new copy of that exe file from the same site where I downloaded it before and installed it again. The same error appeared.

If there is a guru out there who can solve this issue for me, then please reply to this post.

This method can solve the problem:

  • First of all, close all the programs which are running.
  • Then right click on the Chrome and click on the properties button.
  • In the properties, you'll find out the shortcut tab. Click on it.
  • There are two quotes in the shortcut tab. You type in target type as no sandbox.
  • Then apply it and close the window.
  • Now you should run the Google Chrome very easily and normally. You will no longer face this error.

Thank you.

That error is related to your computer’s memory or the physical RAM. If the error is triggered whenever you start the Google Chrome installer, there must be something wrong with your memory modules or one of your memory modules if you have more than one installed on your computer.

The error means when the installer starts and the instructions are loaded to the memory, the instructions loaded in the memory address “0x24418bf7” is not accessible or becomes unreadable. If the error appears constantly on a program, it indicates a problem with the memory module. It is also possible that the error is just generic or just a fluke.

To verify that the error is not by accident, try restarting your computer and restart what you are doing. If the error doesn’t change, you need to check the memory modules installed on your computer. Turn off or shut down your computer then open the CPU case. Next, if you have more than one memory module, leave only one and remove the rest.

Start your computer then try installing again. See if the error comes back. If the error appears again, shut down your computer and replace the memory module with the ones you removed and try again. Keep doing it until you’ve checked which memory module triggers the error. Once you located the memory module, don’t use it again or replace it with a new one.

On the other hand, if you have only one memory module, just try downloading the standalone or offline installer of the Google Chrome web browser and see if it works. If the problem continues, replace your memory module with a new one. The latest Google Chrome web browser supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10.

The Google Chrome web browser dropped support for Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Vista. Try also using or installing a different web browser like Opera, Mozilla Firefox, and or SeaMonkey.
