Google Chrome Error on Installation: Profile Cannot be Used

Hi my friends!

I need a solution. I used Chrome recently on my PC but it got corrupted, so I deleted it. While I was trying to install another version of Chrome, I received an error as seen in the image attached. First, I couldn’t trace the error that is asking for the profile to be replaced. When I read the error message carefully, I understand that the version I was using first was late, and it is the one I am installing now.

Your profile can not be used because it is from a newer version of Google Chrome. Some features may be unavailable. Please specify a different profile directory or use a newer version of Chrome.

I don’t want to install the new version again because it is creating problems for me.

So, please tell me a way to install an older version, yet use the same profile of the new version. I found some files of the recently used version and I deleted them. I did not delete the profile files, but still the error was there. I couldn’t install the old version. So, I am waiting for your response to solve this issue.

Google Chrome Error on Installation: Profile Cannot be Used

Chrome is the best browser out there as of the moment. I had this problem once, an update fixed the problem. This usually happens when updates are released by Chrome. Corruption causes your update to affect the current profile of the browser. Try to do these:

  • First, you can try to close the browser, then reopen and do the update.
  • Second, you can try to uninstall, then reboot, then reinstall chrome.

There is an easy way to fix this error. I read the post by gerorge23. There is an official guide posted by the developers of Google. Just follow the instructions on the link. Hope this reply helps you. https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/3296214?visit_id=0-636509292161597888-2676824164&rd=1
