Hi, everyone! Today I tried to open up Photoshop, but I got an error message. Error message was as follows: Photoshop.exe – Application Error: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000001d). Click OK to close the application. At first I thought that something was wrong with the application, but when I tried to open up Google Chrome I got the same message! Any advice would be great! I am not so great with computers, so any advice you give may have to be broken down. Can someone please tell me what to do?

And these are the steps on how to remove the error, Photoshop Application Error:

Follow the steps accurately.

THERE ARE TWO SOLUTIONS

Photoshop has some bugs that needed to be fixed. a lot of people are complaining about Photoshop errors that they get when using Photoshop program. adobe hears the users call and fix or update their Photoshop software.

Try this.

download and install the latest update of Photoshop CS5 from http://www.adobe.com/downloads.html.

If the problem is just some bugs on Photoshop, well this might fix your problem

Are you a Windows or Mac user? If so, have you checked the specifications needed to install Adobe Photoshop? It might be that the specs of your OS does not meet the specific requirements to run the program. Here are the specifications needed:

Windows

Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor
Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 3; Windows Vista® Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise with Service Pack 1 (Service Pack 2 recommended); or Windows 7
1GB of RAM
1GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on removable flash storage devices)
1024×768 display (1280×800 recommended) with qualified hardware-accelerated OpenGL graphics card, 16-bit color, and 256MB of VRAM
Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0
DVD-ROM drive
QuickTime 7.6.2 software required for multimedia features
Broadband Internet connection required for online services and to validate Subscription Edition (if applicable) on an ongoing basis*
Mac OS

Multicore Intel processor
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or v10.6
1GB of RAM
2GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)

* Windows 7 should also have 8 GB of RAM and a graphics card that support Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0.

And looking more into the issue i have found out that they posted an update that includes addressing this issue. You can get the update from Photoshop's Help > Updates..

Alternatively, you can go to this link to download an installer: http://www.adobe.com/downloads.html?notFoundID=null

You should no longer see the application error on launch.

Hope this helps.

If that error appears on both applications, your Google Chrome web browser and Adobe Photoshop, then the problem is not related to Photoshop. If this is the case, try restarting your computer and try running both applications again after booting. See if the same error is thrown again. If the problem didn’t appear then it is only a glitch in the system which sometimes occurs in the memory.

But in case the problem appeared in one of the programs, try reinstalling the affected application to fix any corrupted files. Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware and unpack with 7-Zip. Once unpacked, run the setup file to install Revo Uninstaller. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller and uninstall the malfunctioning program from the panel. Restart your computer afterwards. Next, go to CCleaner Free Download then download and install CCleaner.

Once installed, start CCleaner and clean your system. Install the affected program back and then run it afterwards. See if this works. To register CCleaner, download CCleaner Registration Codes. Open “license-keys_readme.txt” with Notepad and follow the instructions to register CCleaner.
