The procedure below will help you to synchronise your mailbox with the server using the OST file of Outlook.

First, you need to determine whether the offline folder is being synchronized.

  1. Right-click and select ‘Properties.’
  2. Click on the ‘Synchronization’ tab. If there is no such tab, set up your offline folder.
  3. Now go to the Statistics tab and check the synchronization date and contents of the folder.
  4. If everything is fine both the fields will have the same number.

Then begin synchronization process

Outlook 2007

  • In account settings, go to ‘Advanced’ tab. Select the option that says ‘use cached exchange mode.’

Outlook 2010

  • Go to account settings. Click on the tab named ‘Data Files’
  • Tick the checkbox named as ‘use cached exchange mode.’
