A website I visited automatically triggers a virus that tells a fake message that my hard drive failed and suggests I do a S.M.A.R.T check. I tried to remove it using Task Manger but Task Manager is not working. What other ways I can do to get rid of the S.M.A.R.T virus?
To get rid of a virus completely you can go for two ways.
First way:
Locate the “virus’s name” and manually locate its location in your computer. After you have successfully found it’s location; you will have to delete the virus yourself.
But you have to keep one thing in mind that as the virus would be in use at that instant so you will have to first close down the virus and then you will be able to delete the virus.
Second way:
The above method is going to be hectic so I’ll personally suggest you to get some good antivirus, install that in your computer, update it with the help of internet and then perform a full scan of your computer.
It will locate the virus itself and also ask you whether you want to delete the virus or disinfect the virus.
You must keep one thing in mind that you should install a good antivirus because there are such antivirus's in the market which aren't good enough to detect all types of viruses.
You can go for kaspersky antivirus which I use myself too and believe me I at least haven't found any antivirus better than it.
