Dear Jhony1u,

Your pen drive might most likely be virus infected. Try to use a good antivirus to disinfect the pen drive and then use it. The paid anti virus software would be more preferable than the free ones, as they work better in detecting, neutralizing and removing the viruses. If that doesn't work, Google "pen drive formatting software" and download a software that can format the drive in NTFS format. While formatting, it might take a while, so don't think it is not working. The virus is most probably not letting the drive to be formatted now. Hope this solves your problem.

Hello Jhony,

If you are using it for the first time check its write protected jumper somewhere on drive. Some brands’ pendrives are write protected before used first time. If not try formatting it using “Disk Management” tool. Right click on “My Computer” then Click “Manage” a snap in window will appear. Expand “Storage” and under storage click “Disk Management”. In the right pane under volume column select the drive your pendrive is using. Which you mentioned is G:. right click on it and click format. Perform quick format with file system NTFS. Let the other entries remain the same. Now it will be formatted without any error.

Good day..

Hello Dear,

It seems that there are some viruses on your flash drive. You cannot format a drive if its some files are open. Since viruses are running on your flash and connecting with system files, formatting cannot be completed.

First, scan your flash with antivirus software.

Then, restart your computer. Attach your flash drive to the computer, and do not open it, just right click on it, and click on format.

It should be done.

I hope this helps you. Thanks.
