Hello Garrick,

Your phone hosts one of the first versions of the Android. the latest Android version running currently is the Android 4.1.2 otherwise known as JellyBean.

Asus has not released any update for your phone on any Android version from the Eclair to the JellyBean.

If it had then you would have received a notification on your phone. However you can root your phone by manually installing the JellyBean OS yourself on your phone. Follow these steps to root your phone:

  • Download the SuperOneClick Software from here.
  • Unzip and install in PC.
  • Connect your phone to the PC in the USB Debugging Mode.
  • Open SuperOneClick and click on root.
  • Wait till your phone is rooted.

Caution: If you root your phone, all the warranties on it will become void.

Cheers.
