Hi there,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 which I updated to KitKat 4.4.1 and now I don't have the front camera option, only the rear or no camera, what could be the problem? How do I get my front camera working?

Hi Cromwell,
The settings of the device needs to be changed for the front camera to work after update.
The steps to be performed are as mentioned below:
1) Go to the Home screen and select 'Applications' widget from the screen
2) Open the 'Camera app' and set the shooting mode to 'Auto'
3) Press the 'Dual camera button' in the left corner of the screen
4) To capture the image you want to click from the device
5) Press the 'Shutter button' to take the photo

For Samsung Galaxy S4, it ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean upgradable to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. If you want to upgrade the Android OS on your phone, might as well upgrade to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop which is the latest version compatible with your device. If you have other problems with your phone, try factory resetting from Recovery Mode.

With the phone completely off, press and hold the Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons simultaneously until the logo appears. When the logo appears, release the Power button but continue holding the other keys. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release all buttons. To navigate between the options, press the Volume Up/Down buttons. To select or Enter, press the Power button.

Now, press Volume Down and go to “wipe data/factory reset” then press the Power button to select. Next, press Volume Down and go to “Yes — delete all user data” then press the Power button to select. Android will begin clearing your phone’s data so just wait. When it is finished, go to “reboot system now” and press Power.

Note: before doing this, back up your phone’s data to the memory card and then remove the memory card and SIM card from the device.
