Can you see above image?

This is a big problem for me.

When I connect to the internet with my HSPA modem from my other computer, it connects normally to the internet.

But after one or two minutes it appears an error message like " has encountered a problem and needs to close.

We are sorry for the inconvenience".

It says to send an error message or don't send.

FretsOnFire.exe

FretsOnFire.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

Please tell Microsoft about this problem.

We have created an error report that you can send to us. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous.

To see what data this error report contains, click here.

The special thing is when I check my HSPA modem's connectivity it shows that no any signal strength.

But when i check network connections icon on the taskbar it appears like it has connected. But I can't load any web pages.

Then I removed the modem and fix it again to the USB.But it happens again and again.

I didn't get any solution yet.

Hope best replies

I think it's a compatibility error. Your modem's program FretsOnFire.exe is not compatible with the current Windows you are using. We both use the same kind of modem, USB type. Mine is an HSDPA/3G modem while yours is an HSPA.

Usually, when Windows pop up that dialog box, it points the error to a particular program file. Here, it points to FretsOnFire.exe. If you will click on the blue link that says click here, you will see the memory address of the file and where the error originated.

I don’t know if Program Compatibility will work on this problem. But it’s worth trying.

  1. Find FretsOnFire.exe file on your computer. Right-click on it and choose Properties.
  2. Click on Compatibility tab.
  3. Under Compatibility mode, click on the checkbox beside Run this program in compatibility mode for then click on one of the item from the dropdown list.
  4. Click Apply then OK.

Insert now your modem to see if it works. If not, repeat the procedure again this time change the item you picked from the dropdown list. If you already picked all of the options from the dropdown list and the error haven’t changed, contact the store where you bought your modem to find you a compatible version for your Windows.

Hi,

This probably caused by incompatibility of the software you've used and your computer. You just need to install the updated software CD that came with this device. Once the driver is installed then you shouldn't get this error message.
One thing you'll need to consider is the Internet connection itself, it may say that the status is connected but there is no communication between modem to the Internet server.

Check the settings of your computer, like local area connection status, IP address and browser settings. Clear all cached, files, cookies and browsing history. This will eliminate computer  browser issue and for sure, you'll going to blame your Internet service provider if you found out that it's their product is not working. But worry not, there are remedies to this. You may call them first and see what they can do about this.

Consider updating the software drivers.
This device used for transmitting data over the mobile phone with high speed.
Call your modem manufacture or your ISP.
