There are many free and open source e-commerce applications which you can download and even set up in your own infrastructure. They are highly customizable and have been used to power some of the very heavy traffic websites.

3. Zen Cart – It's a simple and very easy to customize the application. It has been using PHP.
4. OFBiz – It is an ERP with a built-in e-commerce component, you can use to manage an entire business. It has a very powerful catalog manager and you can set up flexible pricing rules. It requires Java.
5. Opentaps – A capable ERP, CRM and e-commerce application built on OFBiz, it has all features of OFBiz and much more. It requires Java.
