It is a software which is used to read the pdf files. Now the problem is, when I open any pdf file through Foxit Reader, it opens that file normally, but when I run the Foxit Reader.exe it shows it is unable to open, and shows an app-crash message. What could be the possible reason behind this issue. I am using Windows 7 Home Basic 64 bit .

There is no difference actually whether you are opening a PDF file, clicking on the Foxit Reader icon on your desktop, or double-clicking on the “Foxit Reader.exe” file inside “C:Program FilesFoxit SoftwareFoxit Reader” folder. They all open the same Foxit Reader. I myself tried double-clicking on the “Foxit Reader.exe” executable and nothing bad happened.

Foxit Reader opened successfully. I guess there is a problem with your application. This wouldn’t happen if the program is working properly and it is properly installed. Try reinstalling Foxit Reader. Click Start, Control Panel, and then Add or Remove Programs. Select Foxit Reader on the list and then click Remove or Uninstall to uninstall it.

When it is finished, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then Disk Cleanup. Select drive C then click OK. Check “Temporary files” and Setup Log Files, click OK then click Delete Files. Restart your computer then run the installer for Foxit Reader. See if this fixes the problem.

Also, try updating Foxit Reader to the latest version. Visit Foxit Reader 7 and then download the latest version.
