I have installed Windows 8.1 on my system and I tried to install Foxit PDF Reader. When I run the setup, it allows me to go through a series of steps but when the installation starts, a dialog box appears, 'Do you want to exit the setup?' If I click on NO then the installation continues for a second or two and I again get the same error. How can I fix this?

I guess the reason for that error is because you are using Microsoft Windows 8.1 instead of Microsoft Windows 8. Another possible cause is if you are installing an earlier version which may still not support Microsoft Windows 8. If this is the case, you only need to use or install the latest version.

To see if the latest version can fix the problem, download and install Foxit Reader 7.0.6.1126. It is compatible with Windows XP [Home, Professional, or Tablet PC] Service Pack 2 or higher, Windows Vista [Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate, Business, or Enterprise] Service Pack 1 or not, and Windows 7 both 32-bit and 64-bit.

If you are already using the latest installer and still it won’t install, try running the installer as administrator. Right-click the Foxit Reader installer then select Properties. Select Compatibility tab then under Privilege Level section, check “Run this program as an administrator” and then click OK. Try starting the installer again.
