Hello,

I have this error when I want to import some files. Camtasia worked just fine until I have upgraded the program and I can tell that is not the first error that I have. Can anyone help me please to import the files properly ? What is causing this error ?

Thank you!

The file format you are trying to import to Camtasia Studio is really not supported. But it doesn’t mean that the file is already useless. FLV files just can’t be directly imported to Camtasia Studio and needs to be converted to another supported format. Camtasia Studio doesn’t support the following file formats:

  • Ogg
  • MPEG-2
  • MOD
  • Video_TS
  • .SWF [that was not created using any Techsmith products]
  • MTS
  • WebM
  • WMV [that was created using GoToWebinar or GoToMeeting]
  • AVCHD
  • 3GPP
  • .RM [RealPlayer]
  • .FLV

To fix your problem, you need to convert the FLV file to any of the supported formats: AVI, WMV, MPEG-1, MP3, WAV, and WMA. Since FLV is a video file, you need to convert it to AVI, WMV, or MPEG-1 because the rest are for audios. To convert the file, try using ImTOO MPEG Encoder. Once the file is converted, you can now import it to Camtasia Studio.

In Camtasia Studio 6.0.0, the MOV file format was added to the supported file types. But to be able to use it, you need to install QuickTime.
